Bilingual Pantry Support Volunteer (Spanish/English)

Schoke Jewish Family Services is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteer to support language accessibility within our Food Pantry and across departments.

Primary Responsibilities (During Pantry Shifts)

• Greet and assist Spanish-speaking community members

• Provide verbal translation support during pantry interactions as needed

• Support staff in maintaining a welcoming environment

Additional Responsibilities (When Translation Support Is Not Needed)

• Translate documents, forms, and informational materials into Spanish

• Assist departments in making written communication more accessible

• Review translated materials for clarity and tone

Ideal Qualities

• Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal)

• Strong attention to detail

• Professional and respectful communication style

• Comfortable working independently on assigned translation tasks
